The Stash Tea Company is headquartered in Portland, Oregon. Founded in 1972, the company derives its name from an entertaining aspect of tea folklore. In earlier centuries, tea was a valuable commodity traditionally transported by clipper ship. The ship's captain often was presented with some of the finest teas for his personal use. This supply was his "stash", stowed carefully as his "private reserve." Today, the term still is used to denote anything put away carefully because of its preciousness. Stash Premium Agave Nectar Sticks, 20-Count Sticks is made from organic agave nectar, a vegan-friendly honey substitute. Simply pop open the ends to stir natural goodness into your beverage. Agave Nectar is a natural sweetener made from the juice of the Agave plant. It has a pleasant flavor and is sweeter than sugar with a consistency similiar to honey. With an approximat 72% fruit sugar content, Agave absorbs more slowly into the body decreasing the highs and lows associated with sugar. Agave is a vegan friendly honey substitute.

    This Stash Agave Nectar is my favorite by far! I got online to let others know why. I've tried about 8 brands, and this is the most pleasant-tasting, mild with no aftertaste. Some brands are too pungent, and they can be too much like honey. Hands down, this one is my favorite! I am hoping to see it offered in bottles also.

    I was excited at the prospect of having "portable" agave, since restaurants or coffee shops don't typically have this sweetener. While the taste is good, it is IMPOSSIBLE to open the sticks. I have tried squeezing and twisting, but the only thing that works is scissors, which get quite sticky after using. For this reason, I would not order this product again. The agave sticks are portable, but you need to carry sticky scissors around to open them.

    I bought these as a gift for someone who wanted agave on the go. Unfortunately the other reviews were correct. Just too hard to open and difficult to extract. Great idea, just need a new packaging and I would buy again.
