My entire family loves this cereal. The kids just call it the "berry cereal". We're on a budget but we want to eat and support GMO-free products, especially breakfast cereals, so we are grateful for Amazon's Subscribe & Save bulk pricing which makes this wonderful premium cereal very affordable, cheaper per ounce than even many of the "Sugar-Packed GMO Crunch" cereals at your big-box stores.

I have a feeling that the 12 boxes I bought from Amazon.com are different that what I used to get (same product) when I used to buy from local grocery store.
The same product bought from local grocery store used to have fruit with each filling almost and. I could taste them.
In the lot received from Amazon, I do not taste any fruit in fillings..
I have tried to ask Kashi on their online "Product concern" form but that web page keeps failing on me on final submission.

I love this cereal! It is filling, with just enough sweet without making it a sugar bomb. I just did not like eating a nest of silk cocoon spinning bugs. I already ate 6 boxes of the 12. Taking out the bag out of the 7th box, I saw an old cocoon of some insect. I thought this was on the outside of the bag, so prod prod scrape I go. Hmm... it's on the inside. I open the bag and proceed to extract the cocoon. Apparently it was long abandoned, but still left a loud statement. I begin to inspect the bag. Then I noticed the usual free falling flakey wheaty crumbs that usually make up the bottom of the bag.. were not free falling. They were oddly dancing around as if suspended by spider webs. It wouldn't have been noticeable, but it looks like whatever was in there made a nest and had the time to bind most of the free wheaties.

At first I was enamoured, then it hit me. Of the 6 boxes I've already eaten, I remember there were odd tastes here and there, but didn't think much of it. Yeah... got angry, grossed out, and whatever :O emoticon you can imagine. Tossed that bag and wondered if there were more. The next box I take out, there go the dangling wheaties... tossed. Next box.. looks okay. Meh.. whatever, eating it now.

Soooo.. not sure how many boxes you need to toss to make this bulk order not worth it. Just keep an eye open for extra protein and dancing crumbs.

    Update (2/13/2019):

I decided to give the bulk order from Amazon one more try, so I purchased the 12 pack in September 2018. The expiration date was March 2019. Initially the cereal was great, but by November 2018, the cereal started to smell and taste stale. The smell and taste reminded me of the smell of those cheap pressed wood drawers or cabinets. Quite unappetizing, but meh, can't waste.. until I find a couple boxes with bags containing cereal suspended by silky strands. What would have grossed me out made me glad to get rid of some bags of pressed wood. I'm down to two boxes.. two stale boxes of pressed wood.. sorry, the quality of the bulk cereal is bad unless you eat it in a couple months.

    Great cereal: +5 stars
Wasting boxes and poopy buggers: -2 stars
Stale before its time: -1 star

It's not awful, but it doesn't take like berries - it tastes like Grapes. If that's the flavor you want, it's fine.

Organic whole grain wheat (when do you see that?) - High in fiber, low in added sugar, NO sodium, and 6g of protein, and tastes great. Most other cereals are like giving yourself or your kids candy for breakfast. Put on some fresh or dried fruit, add some crushed or sliced nuts and soy, almond, or skim milk and it is a hearty breakfast that sticks with you.

Three boxes in the case were rotten, tasted terrible. Others fine but three wasted boxes! The highly processed wheat may have gone bad, or the sugar, that's what is in these boxes basically, and they can be tasty, unless they are very bad. A shame.

My favorite cereal. If I don't have time for oatmeal, I opt for this. I rarely eat a full serving size because I fill up on half the amount. It's a delicious cereal and I like the convenience of buying by the case for a good price.
