About this item

  • NUTRITIONALLY SUPERIOR TO AGAVE SYRUP - Since Coconut Sap is sweet right out of the tree, Coconut Nectar does not have to be boiled to make it sweet. This prevents the sugar in it from becoming fructose, which means it retains its naturally low glycemic levels and sweetness
  • FROM SAP TO SUGAR - Coconut Crystals are created by allowing the sap from coconut blossoms to evaporate and thicken into a syrup, which only takes around 45 minutes. This is unlike most other sweeteners, which have to be boiled at high temperatures and condensed to concentrate the sweetness. Coconut sap contains a wide range of minerals, vitamins, and 17 amino acids
  • DELICIOUS ALTERNATIVE - Our Coconut Nectar has a delicious, naturally sweet, caramel-like flavor. Since it is made from the tree's sap and not coconuts, they do not have a coconut flavor and are not considered an allergen
  • VERSATILE NATURAL LIQUID SWEETENER- The naturally sweet and rich flavor of Coconut Nectar makes it an ideal sweetener for cookies, muffins, confections and in tea, coffee, and smoothies
  • SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES - Agrochemicals and GMOs are strictly prohibited from our farms in the Philippines. We use environmentally sustainable organic farming methods and always follow fair trade practices so you can consume our products with confidence

I purchased this for a sugar substitute and I'm amazed at the quality and uses for it. I liked it due to the fact it is a low glycemic sweetener and it's claimed to be more nutritious that agave!!! I thought this would be a nice sub for honey or agave even though these are natural sweeteners, they do have a higher glycemic than this product. I've purchased many products of Coconut Secret and I haven't been dissapointed in any of them. I've substituted this in tea, cole slaw - mayo dressings, and the such and I've liked what I've tasted. I hardly use sugar of any kind but when I need a little sweetener I will turn to this product. I have not tried in any baking so I can't give feedback on that.... highly recommend

This coconut nectar is delicious and has a unique tasty flavor. I am a type II diabetic and the coconut nectar does not raise my blood sugar at all. I am using this as a sweetner in baked goods, as a syrup on gluten free almond and coconut flour pancakes and waffles, as a dressing for fruit salad, sweetner in whipped cream and homemade cheesecake. I also used this along with Coconut Secret's Coconut Aminos in making homemade ketchup and barbeque sauce. The flavor of the coconut nectar really enhances both.

I only wish it came in a discounted 4 or 6 pack or a bigger bottle. It can be a bit pricey. That being said, a little goes a long way for sweetner. I also use coconut palm sugar regularly for baked goods but I find the flavor of this raw coconut nectar much more flavorful and the texture of the baked goods more moist.

I really like this company's aminos product. Also, I decided to hold a "coconut nectar shootout" (not just a comparison, but a "shootout" and you have to say it like the guy announcing the "rock bottom" prices at the local car dealership and with echo preferably). This was to be an all out war of coconut nectars and, frankly, I didn't know what to expect. The mood was tense, but positive. Based on the quality of Coconut Secret (hereafter "CS") Aminos, I placed CS nectar as the odd's on favorite. That said, I do not like molasses. That became important when I learned that is what CS nectar tastes like. Also, the consistency of this product is very thick compared to the other nectars. I mean it is really thick and quite messy. It is clearly high quality and I remain a huge fan of the company - a family biz that does things the right way. I will continue to chug CS Aminos - using it on everything from pizza to sushi to cereal - okay, not cereal bc I don't eat cereal, but if I did...
Again, if you are not averse to molasses, this is your stuff. Even if you are not fond of molasses, this stuff tastes great on oatmeal (which I do eat).
The winner of the shootout was Big Tree Coconut Nectar Light BTW.

I bought this to use in making Coconut Haystacks. I did expect it to have a coconut flavor to it but I don't taste it. The coconut I purchased was too fine so I gave up on making candy. I'm using this as a sweetener in things like tea until it's used up.

I needed to severely cut down on my sugar intake, and also want to stay away from artificial/chemical sweeteners. Stevia is ok but still gives me that aftertaste that I don't find appealing. It's good for some things, but not everything. This product is amazing! I'm so glad to have found something that is sold in its natural, organic, raw state that is low-glycemic and actually good for you!

I bought this on the strength of a recommendation from someone I trusted. BIG MISTAKE. I can detect no difference between this stuff and rice syrup, and if anything, this stuff is even more sticky and gooey, and even less palatable. I haven't actually thrown it out yet, but that's probably going to be what winds up happening to it.

I know this is said to have a low glycemic index but can it really be true? For me this thick syrup is even more delicious than maple syrup. Amazing on pancakes. I'm brainstorming how else to use it -- on toast, in hot cocoa, in baking? Unbelievably good and this is the first time I've been delighted enough by something to actually write an Amazon review.

I use it in recipes that call for agave nectar because I heard agave nectar is just as bad as High Fructose Corn Syrup. I'm not sure if there's any truth in that but I'd rather not take chances.

I try not eat refined sugars but I do crave sweet things. This is lovely drizzled on yoghurt with fruit & flaxseed for breakfast. I also sometimes have pancakes (made with coconut flour) at the weekend & use it on those. I find that you don't need very much of it which is just as well because it is quite expensive. It really does have a lovely sweet taste that stops my cravings. Very nice I will definitely order it again.

2.0 out of 5 stars Hm...
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 14, 2015
Today I got the nectar. There is nothing special about it apart from the fact that is sweet and another source of sugar. I am 95% sugar free so when I want to try something sweet and never had before, like this nectar, I am going for the whole thing. Because it was an experiment, I wanted to finish the bottle because I go for the motto: "You can't eat what you don't have", and still didn't get a special taste. It could be healthier than sugar and CO, but for me is not going to be anymore because I want to reach the 100% sugar free. Maybe it will work for people with sweet teeth, I don't now. If you, like myself what to try it, just buy it once and see how it works for you. Don't expect coconut flavour though.

On my way to ditch the sugar I've tried a lot of sweeteners too, like xylitol which I wouldn't recommend because it could make you bloated and also could gives you lower belly pain, which I've both got, and erythritol. The last one was better but is not healthy and natural, although a lot of webs are claiming that both are natural.
Anyway, you have to make your own decision if you what to try the nectar or not. For me it's a NO forever.

Sorry but it gets just 2 stars because, like I've said, there is nothing special about it.

PS: don't go for the whole bottle like I did if you are not at least 5 days a week active, like myself (tomorrow I am going out for my run and for the rest of the week and year I will be sugar free and watch my diet as well, like usual).
