    I insist on buying organic nuts because the pesticides use on nuts is very high if you buy conventional. These were a good cost/amount balance on Amazon and had positive reviews and were orgsnic, so I gave them a try. They were packaged very well, in a thick large plastic pouch, so there were no punctures or tears. The pecans were very delicious and fresh. I was worried initially because other companies had random reviews of stale and rancid. This company has fresh pecans. I soaked the nuts as recommended by Sally Fallon and re dehydrated. They didn't turn to mush and re dried beautifully. I keep them in freezer to keep them as fresh as I received them after opening the pouch. I am headed to buy another package. Please keep offering these.

    ***Update: 3/18/2016: Bought more of these pecans and I still highly recommend purchasing from this company. They are also one of the few who sell ORGANIC pecans and yet theyl have a really good price for them. I purchased a 2.5 lb bag. I'm grateful to be able to be able to enjoy pecans without the pesticides or chemicals.

    I've never bought pecans that are more beautiful to look at -- they're big and almost all are perfectly formed without being chipped. And they don't taste bad either. In fact, they're pretty good. But they don't taste as sweet and delectable as the pecans I bought a while back from Braga Farms, pecans which were much smaller and not the same pretty golden brown that Anna and Sarah's are. Since pecans are for eating and not for framing and hanging on the wall, I give Braga's five stars and Anna and Sarah's four stars. Or maybe the looks of the pecans DO matter to you, as they might, I suppose, if you're putting them on top of a pecan pie, in which case you may want to go with the Anna and Sarah's. If taste is your number one concern, however, then I would recommend the Braga's. Come to think of it, I've never ordered anything from Braga's that was less than five-star quality. They're expensive, but if you want the best you have to be prepared to spend a little more.

    As an ex-Texan who would never use walnuts instead of pecans in my Southern recipes, I have to say this is the best package of pecans I have received via Amazon thus far. The price was excellent for the quality! I usually purchase my pecan halves directly from Berdoll's farm in TX (where you can purchase special varieties, such as Kiowa or Choctaw, for about $13-18/lb). The package arrived quickly and the pecan halves are much fresher than I had anticipated to receive so late after last year's harvests (Fall '14). There are many broken pieces as well as numerous pecan halves (probably about 50:50); however, most of my recipes call for broken pecan pieces, I don't mind having broken pieces (which will probably get used up before the halves). Last time, I purchased a 5lb bag of pecans from a different vendor, but these are much better. so I will probably continue to purchase from this buyer in the future.

They're the best tasting ones we've ever tried, and we've always had some in our fridge for years as a dessert snack! (Great with dried apricots or figs, but the best is with deglet dates!)
