- Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2024Size: 8 Ounce (Pack of 1)Style: Whole BeanVerified PurchaseThis is a favorite of ours. Fell in love with it once we had it in Jamaica. Very smooth flavor yet robust. This seller offers it at a reasonable price and their customer service is second to none.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2014Size: GroundStyle: Organic Simmer DecaffeinatedVerified PurchaseI am pretty frugal and do not buy appliances I cannot truly justify, and fiddling with a coffee maker every day just seems silly for my own lifestyle. While waiting for my Simmer Down coffee, though, I came across a small thread in a product page for a turkish coffee here that explains how turkish coffee is made (bring your coffee to a foaming boil 3 times in a small pot, allow half a minute for it to settle, slowly pour it into a second pot--in my case, just a pyrex measuring cup with a spout--allow it to settle again, then slowly pour it into your coffee cup). This sounded to me like pretty much how folks have probably been making coffee for ages, and so I let the coffeemaker be and went with it. The result? The silkiest, smoothest, and best tasting cup of coffee I have ever had at home or at a fancy coffee shop, with nothing more than a thin and tiny line of dissolved, creamy coffee at the bottom of the cup. It was such a strong, dark cup of coffee that I almost did not believe it was truly decaf until after my second cup, at which time I would have been wired and "on" if it had not been. The best part? This Simmer Down coffee is absolutely delicious! It was smooth and mellow, and rounded with just a touch of a caramel undertone to it which is really brought out by a tiny bit of maple sugar (or a deep dark sugar for a more robust taste, if that is your preference). I didn't have to plug anything into a socket to make it, dial up any buttons, or filter my coffee through coffee filters made with bleach or ammonia. I think it is fitting to go back to your roots to enjoy this very laid back coffee--don't you? : ) try it--you may never touch a coffee maker again!

- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2016The Marley Coffee Company Shore puts out some delicious coffee. As a rule, I'm not even that crazy about a roast that is on the dark side, but this is heaven in a bean.
For whatever reason, it seems that it's getting harder and harder to find good coffee that isn't pre ground. I really like not only the taste, but the fact that it is rainforest alliance-certified.
It is bold without being harsh or charcoal-ish.
More complex than your average coffee, it has hints of toffee and cocoa, with just a bit of toast. Stands up well to milk and cream.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2015Size: Buffalo SoldierStyle: GroundVerified Purchasei like dark coffee, but i don't want it to just taste just 'black' or 'dark', ya know? i like something i can taste and has a pallet. this is by far my favorite coffee. i buy it in k cups to have for convenience, but i also like using grounds. i especially enjoy mixing the last, not quite enough for a cup by itself, amount with some other coffee - it always accentuates anything i add to it. it may be a little pricey, as in more than the coffee at the grocery store, but it is obviously a higher quality - so i don;t mind paying the premium. Amazon sells it at, what i consider, a very low and fair price (especially with the high frequency of coupons). do yourself a favor, buy it and try it - if you don't like it, send it to me.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2017Size: Whole BeanStyle: Decaffeinated Whole Bean, Simmer DownVerified PurchaseI was looking for an organic decaf whole bean coffee that's not dark/French roast or espresso. Looking in grocery stores was a waste of time. Here on Amazon I chose three to try and I tried this one first. It is, in a word, disappointing. There is no coffee smell. I use a vintage hand-crank coffee grinder, which usually gives a lovely fresh-ground smell. But not with this. Next I tried The Bean Coffee Company - Organic Decaf El Grano Suave (Classic Colombian Excelso), Medium Roast, Whole Bean The Bean Coffee Company Organic Decaf El Grano Suave (Classic Colombian Excelso), Medium Roast, Whole Bean, 16-Ounce Bag. That's the one you should buy if you want a fresh coffee smell when you grind the beans and drink a cup.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2016Size: Whole BeanStyle: Whole Bean, One Love, Ethiopia YirgacheffeVerified PurchaseAs others have noted, Marley One Love is not as bold, once brewed, as it seems while still in whole bean form. I'm not a coffee connoisseur, but I do like something a step above Foldgers. I prepare my coffee by grinding two Aeropress scoops of beans in a manual burr grinder, while 16oz of water heat for 3 minutes in the microwave. The aroma after grinding is wonderful, not burnt like Starbucks, not fishy like Kirkland Organic. I brew the coffee in an Aeropress using the pressed method and after the initial press, add ½ oz milk to balance the acidity. My first cup tasted like hot water and milk. I could smell a faint aroma of what was present with the crushed beans, but absolutely no flavor. I don't like dark roasts, but I've never experienced anything quite like this with coffee. Subsequent brews I've made stronger (longer brew time, more water) and had a better experience. I prefer beans from a local roaster, but Marley One Love are easier on the wallet.
