Do you know how hard it is to find pitted dates in a grocery store? There were no dates in one Kroger, only dates with pits in another. Even Whole Foods had only dates with pits, although they said they could order some pitted ones. I realize it isn't that hard to remove the pits, but since they are usually sold by the pound, I don't want to do the work AND pay extra because the pits add weight. It was easier to order from Amazon and have them delivered to my door!

I have used these dates in several recipes. So far, I haven't found one pit. I did find some pitted dates at Sprouts, but the first time I went to run them in my food processor, one had a pit and it got stuck on the blade. Not good for the blade. It has made me check each dat before I put it in the processor now. So far, this brand really has been pit free.

These have worked well as a sweetener in several recipes. I try to avoid regular sugar, so it is nice to have an alternative. People are surprised when I tell them something was made with dates. So far my favorite has been a chocolate infinity pie. The crust is made with dates and Cacao powder. The filling with tofu and melted dark chocolate chips. It is REALLY good!

My first few orders were fine and arrived fresh with no problems. However, both bags of dates in my last order arrived in what appeared to be melted bags, and the dates were spoiled.

When I got the unopened package out of my cupboard on 4/13/17 it was clearly swollen and seemed to be under pressure, when I broke the seal it released the pressure and the product smelled foul/fermented. It's unusable and has to be thrown away

As the wife of the orderer, I am writing this review because I am the one using this product. I try never to give a negative review, but in this case, I feel compelled to share so that others can be aware. Although it is a definite perk to have these pitted, most of them are like leather. The one I had this morning was completely tough and dry. I have had a few others that were maybe half dry, and half somewhat moister. I was trying to save a little money by ordering these, to replace pricier ones that I have to go to the store and buy at Wegmans. Organic is a must. The ones at Wegmans are practically melt in your mouth soft. This product was unfortunately a great disappointment to me. I keep hoping as the weeks go by (I eat one a day with breakfast) that the ones lower down will be softer, but that does not seem to be the case -- bummer!!

I have IC and finding fruits that I can eat is very hard. These dates are very good and have lots of fiber which helps me combat some of the side-effects of the medicines I am on. Plus, they're organic and I have to try to eat as many things as possible that are organic, untreated, etc. They are great in oatmeal or straight out of the bag. My daughter likes them, too, as a snack after school. They are naturally sweet and make a nice treat. My only complaint is that some of them are very dry, but I had the same problem with the bag of organic dates I purchased at a nearby Amish store recently. I think it's just par for the course with dates. When I chop them up and put them in my warm oatmeal, they soften right up, so not that big of a deal. I have never found a pit in these, either, which is great for me and my teeth! Overall, love these dates and I get them when I can't make it up to Amish-land to buy them in bulk.

Delicious. Organic. Large quantity. Resealable bag. Large sized fruits. Great snack to satisfy mid-day sugar cravings.

Minimal crystallization of the sugars = FRESH! This makes it exceptionally easy to use as a base for all my natural granola bars. No crunchy sugars to mess with the texture of the bars and the date pulp, once blended, makes this a sticky substrate to bind all the good stuff you want in a bar.

Here's my recipe if you're interested in making your own:
Gingerbread Bars (change out the flavorings to make your own varieties):

    1-2 tablespoons gelatinized maca powder
1-2 tablespoons protein powder (I use hemp protein but you can use anything you have on hand...or leave it out completely)
    1 ½ cups cashews
    1 ½ cups dates
¾ - 1 ½ teaspoons powdered ginger (if you really love ginger...you can add up to 1/4 cup of crystalized ginger too)
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    ¼ teaspoon cloves
about 1-2 tablespoons water or more as needed to get a moist consistency.

Blend it all in a Cuisinart or Ninja-type blender. Press into glass pan lined with parchment or wax paper and press to create flat consistent shape. Refrigerate for several hours then cut to size. Can freeze.

These dates are incredible! I tried going paleo for awhile about a year ago, but I didn't stick it out and reintroduced grains into my diet. I felt awful after this but was trying to convince myself that grains were okay. My skin was getting bad again, I was gaining weight again and I felt tired all the time. I decided my health and quality life was more important than having bread, rice, cereal, cakes and cookies. The thing is, for me, getting over the sweets was especially difficult. That's where these dates come into play. These are non-gmo, organic and unsulphered, they are sweet, healthy (in moderation) and full of fiber. They are certainly better for you than any candy bar, any day. I pack these up for a quick pick me up while I'm out and the kids love them. We've successfully avoided candies, cookies and all manner of junk food quality sweets with these dates. What a treat! They're even great to cook and bake with. I would definitely recommend these.
