If you're worried your dog is getting the right nutrition as much as I am, this book is great. You'll be sure of the quality of the food you're giving your pup. You'll learn everything you should avoid giving to your dog and why (surprisingly long list), as well as food that's really good for your dog, and how to combine it in recipes you can make in big batches. I recommended this as a great reference book!

Like humans dogs are also be treated well and they should also absorb as much nutrients as possible. Dogs should also have healthy body in order for their organs to function well. It is true that many dog owners today prefer the commercially available dog foods, because they are conveniently be bought in the stores nationwide. But, since our dogs help us in many ways at home, why not make some efforts of making their foods organically and naturally. This book has a lot of dog food recipes that we can prepare for our dogs. It also contains the right foods to be given to our dogs and what are those that are not healthy for them. And since our dogs are not used to eat the homemade dog foods at first, what we need to do is introduce it to them gradually. So, the next time they eat the foods they can identify it already and they will starting to love them.

There's a lot of great ideas in this book, and it's worth looking at. While I wish there were more jerky recipes, there are a number of ways to copy popular dog foods here as well as treats. Overall a fun cookbook.

I feed raw food to my dogs, but this is quite an eye opener for foods that we eat, as humans, that are toxic to dogs. Well worth reading, just for peace of mind.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great recipes, but how much should I give!?
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 29, 2016

It gives you clear information about what dogs should eat and not eat, and all recipes are easy to make. As the author said I asked the vet first if my dog can eat home made food, but she said no, because you cannot make sure how much you should give, so it can lead to obesity....! Theregore, it will be useful if there is some information regarding to how much, according to breeds and size of dogs.
