I needed some fresher dill as my old bottle (as seen in photo) was BEST BY NOV 2018 and not doing a whole lot for my tuna salad or the look of my spice display. I was looking online for celery seed which I couldn't find at the supermarket and saw the Simply Organic spices on Amazon. I really, REALLY liked the look of the glass bottles, metal caps and logo (I am a graphic artist), so I ordered a few. They do cost a bit more than standard supermarket spices but the bottle is larger (see photo) and I appreciate the company values. On the back of the bottle, it says, "1% of sales supports organic farming and education". Their dill is a nice bright green with a strong aroma when opened. I am no expert on spices but I could taste it in my tuna again. I was given a gift certificate with which I bought the Simply Organic spices but I would spend my own money on them. Just be aware that bottle height is 4 1/2 inches when considering spice rack tolerances and/or a streamlined look with other spice bottles. I was unable to find celery seed by this company, but the label can be peeled off when empty and filled with celery seed from another source if you like all your spice bottles to match.

    This was among the most amusing Q&As I have read in quite some time. For those who need some clarification: dill weed SHOULD NOT be confused with marijuana! I already have a difficult time eating potato salad in moderation -- sprinkle some type of hallucinogenic in it and well...watch out!

    This spice is certified USDA Organic. Why is that important? Similar to non-organic food, many spices are treated with chemicals (pesticides and herbicides), contain GMOs and are irradiated. Most of us aren’t super familiar with the process of irradiation. Radiation is applied to kill bacteria and other contaminants, leaving the finished product with decreased levels of vitamins and natural enzymes. Irradiation also changes the chemical composition of a spice, potentially creating toxic, carcinogenic by-products in the food and increasing our exposure to free radicals. Nearly all spices sold in the United State  are fumigated (sterilized) with chemicals that are banned in Europe. Hazardous stuff! Thankfully, we have an alternative.

    Simply Organic dill is sold at a reasonable cost. It’s full of taste and is great on nearly everything: poultry, seafood (salmon), soups, salads (macaroni/potato), pickling/fermenting foods, breads, dairy (sour cream/ cream cheese), scrambled/deviled eggs. It’s most fun to sprinkle some on popcorn or on your homemade potato chips!

    It’s important to check the expiration date on our spices to prevent staleness or lack of potency. The bottom of Simply Organic bottles have a best by" date to assure that you’re not getting sold old stock. And by the way, it’s a real glass bottle which can easily be reused or repurposed nicely.
