Dr. Jonathan V. Wright is a pioneer in natural therapies for health conditions and an expert in the use of bioidentical hormone replacement for men and women.
A Harvard University and University of Michigan graduate, Dr. Jonathan V. Wright is a fore-runner in research and application of natural treatments for healthy aging and illness. Along with Alan Gaby, M.D., he has since 1976 accumulated a file of over 50,000 research papers about diet, vitamins, minerals, botanicals, and other natural substances from which he has developed non-patent medicine (non-"drug") treatments for health problems. Since 1983, Drs. Wright and Gaby have regularly taught seminars about these methods to tens of thousands of physicians in these United States and overseas.
He was the first to develop and introduce the use of comprehensive patterns of bio-identical hormones (including estrogens, progesterone, DHEA, and testosterone) in 1982 and (at Meridian Valley Laboratory) directed the development of tests to ensure their safe use. He teaches use and laboratory monitoring of bio-identical hormones at several seminars each year.
He also originated successful natural treatment for elimination of childhood asthma, developed treatment to stop vision loss or improve vision in the majority of individuals with "dry" macular degeneration, was the first to use aldosterone to reverse age-related hearing loss, discovered the effect of iodine on estrogen metabolism and cobalt on steroid detoxification, popularized the use of D-mannose treatment for E. coli urinary tract infection, developed effective natural treatment for seborrheic dermatitis, allergic and viral conjunctivitis, and Osgood-Schlatter's disease.
Dr. Wright founded the Tahoma Clinic (1973), Meridian Valley Laboratory (1976), and the Tahoma Clinic Foundation (1996). Tahoma Clinic was established to approach disease by natural means and emphasize correction of imbalances in the body that lead to disease. The infamous 1992 FDA Tahoma Clinic "raid" ("The Great B-Vitamin Bust") was a major impetus for Congressional reform of vitamin/mineral regulation. Dr. Wright continues to be an advocate for patient freedom of choice in healthcare.
Internationally known for his books and medical articles, Dr. Wright has authored or co-authored 14 books, selling over 1.5 million copies, with two texts achieving best selling status: "Book of Nutritional Therapy" and "Guide to Healing with Nutrition". He authors "Nutrition and Healing", a monthly newsletter emphasizing nutritional medicine that reaches over 118,000 in the USA, and another 15,000 or more worldwide.
On April 28th, 2012 Dr. Jonathan V. Wright was inducted into the Orthomolecular Hall of Fame in recognition of his outstanding contributions to orthomolecular medicine over the years. He joins other well-known and respected pioneers honored by the organization since 2004. Click here for more info about the Hall of Fame (www.orthomolecular.org).

- Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2014Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI admit that I love eating bad food. Love, love,LOVE it! But because of that, I noticed that my energy levels have been decreasing more and more over the years. So after hearing about how clean eating can improve your life, I decided to buy this book because I thought it would be educational and at the very least, give me the basics. I am so glad that I did. I've already ready it twice and have noticed my energy levels have gone up a lot, now that I am eating a cleaner diet. Great book if you want something educational and not preachy.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2016I decided I wanted to change how I cook for my family, but didn't want to stick to a particular diet - and this book gave me the answers I was looking for. It's more of a philosophy on what to eat and why it's healthy, so it's basically something you can stick to for life. The recipes are also a nice touch if you need some inspiration
- Reviewed in the United States on July 17, 2013The only thin g I regret is having purchased a Kindle copy. It's a pain going through it in my reader when I want to find something specific in the content. With a hard copy I could use post it notes to earmark what I consider important info. As for the content, it is fantastic and not difficult to grasp. I've learned a lot and now to take action on what I've learned.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2013Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI have enjoyed reading for the most part the Eating Clean for Dummies book. However, I am disappointed with some of the inaccurate statements made throughout particularly in relation to the Paleo diet. In reference to the Paleo diet the authors claim that those who assume the lifestyle abstain from eating carbs however this is erroneous because there are carbohydrates in both fruits and vegetables which is a main component of the Paleo diet!!! This inaccuracy has made me reflect on how much truth is in the book.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2013Format: PaperbackVerified Purchasei've been an advocate for the "for Dummies" books for awhile. Although thety arent going to give you super extensive research on any subject, they give you wonderful depth of information on the subject. I like to buy them on something i know nothing about but want to learn.
After reading this I almost subconciously find myself making "better" decisious on what i should and should eat. Great information.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 5, 2013Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseThis book is very helpful for someone who is just starting to eat "clean." It includes information on harmful food additives, chemicals, and other things in processed foods. There are lots of helpful tips on what foods to buy, which ones to avoid, etc. Recipes are included in the back of the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2013My friend recommended this book to me. Good read and information for those that would like to eat better. Its worth try. The food industry and USDA should really be ashamed of themselves. We have to choose to many lesser evils in todays world. .
