Delightfully smooth decaf coffee as indicated in many other reviews. I bought one jar and then realized it makes a good gift for others since most grocery stores do not stock decaf coffee this tasty. (The snap on lid is innovative in a way. You pop it on to seal the jar; you twist the lid partially to open.) Mount Hagen has a really nice and informative website too.

    I’ve bought this decaf so many times now, I’ve honestly lost count. For instant coffee, it’s way better than I expected — smooth, mellow, and actually tastes like real coffee. I usually make it into a latte with hot milk and it comes out surprisingly good. You’d never guess it was instant, let alone decaf.

    I like having something warm in the afternoon that won’t mess with my sleep, and this does the trick. No weird aftertaste, no bitterness, just a good cup of coffee without the caffeine.

    What I liked:
    - Tastes like real coffee, not watered-down decaf
    - Super easy to make, especially as a latte
    - No bitterness or weird aftertaste
    - Perfect for evenings or late afternoons

    What I disliked:
    - I go through the jar pretty fast — wish there was a bigger size
    - Not a fan of the jar design — kind of awkward to scoop from when it gets low

    Still, I keep reordering because the coffee itself is that good. If you’re trying to cut caffeine but still want something that tastes like the real thing, this one’s hard to beat.

    I LOVE this coffee! I don't drink/use caffeine for health reasons. I like the convivence of INSTANT coffee. We have an InSinkErator® "Instant Hot" hot water dispenser. No need to boil water, no need to wait for the microwave.

    I also wanted to get Methylene Chloride out of my coffee/life.

    "Methylene Chloride is an active ingredient in paint stripper that was recently banned by the EPA. However, the FDA currently allows methylene chloride to be used in the coffee decaffeination process and brands are not even required to disclose the decaffeination process on their label."

    My former brand of decaf was using this method as are many others.

    I couldn't find a brand of "instant" decaf that used the Swiss water-based process.
    What I did find is THIS Mount Hagen brand that uses pressure and Carbon Dioxide (NOT MON oxide) as their decaffeinating process. No Methylene Chloride.
