I was sent a copy of Anni's newly released work of art, the Organic Family cookbook: growing, greening, and cooking together, and I am truly blown away. Not only does the cookbook include the most delicious wholesome recipes, it is a work of art with the photographs by Alexandra DeFurio. --Mkokopelli.blogspot.com

- Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2011After I purchased this cook book and read it cover to cover in one sitting,(the photos are gorgeous and the writing style is so easy to read ) I immediately bought it for two of my friends as gifts. These friends are wanting to become more conscious about organics and our environment and they want to feed their kids really well, but are a little unsure where to start. This is the perfect cookbook for someone just starting out on their journey of awakening to a more natural family living way, but, at the same time, I learned a lot from it and I've been on this journey since my son was born 10 years ago. So it's great for newbies and also experienced eco-mamas. It's so much more than just a cookbook. There is a lot of information packed in to this book!! On a side note, Anni has another cookbook called Ice Pop Joy, which also makes a great gift. I bought 2 of them for Christmas gifts...and it also makes a great gift for a mom who just had a baby who already has kids and doesn't need more baby stuff! It's such a fun book!I've also ordered her kids party book...I can't wait to get it. That one is a gift to myself. You will really love all her books. I can't say enough about them.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 18, 2012First, I want to mention: Most often, I'll get a recipe book with the best of intentions. The pictures show these amazing dishes and wow, I want to make those. But once I get the book home, I find that there are maybe 3 things in the book which I'll ever possibly make. That is NOT the case with this cook book. I am actually cooking more than a handful of these recipes and am even sharing the book with my friends.
Having two kids, both of which are in a phase of, "I don't want to eat!", while at the same time, trying to eat as healthy and organic as possible... let's just say I needed a helping hand in my meals.
This book has not only helped to add new dishes on the table, it also has some amazing side note stories to couple with these recipes which really are pretty cool - even at home art projects.
Only complaint I have for the book is that it's too short. I've heard how long it takes for recipe books to get to the stage where they're ready to be published - I just wish there were more recipes like these in this book :)
Here's to a 2nd version?!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 20, 2011Anni Daulter has done it again with the fantastic "The Organic Family Cookbook". What always catches my eye about Anni's books is the stunning photography and food styling. It make you want to make every single recipe in there. This book encompasses everything you would want in an organic cookbook because it contains very easy-to-make recipes that the whole family will enjoy. As someone who cooks regularly with children, the ease in making these recipes is something very important to me. This cookbook has everything from Pumpkin Pancakes with Honey Butter, Pistachios, and Fig Jam to Flourless Chocolate Cake. The ingredients are easy to find and also easy to substitute if you have any food issues. I highly recommend "The Organic Family Cookbook" to anyone looking to extend their organic food journey and experience truly delicious, whole, healthy food.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2024The cookbook arrived used in plastic wrap like new. I ordered new. It's pretty dirty and all the pages have watermark on the bottom. :-(
- Reviewed in the United States on January 1, 2013This looked like a cute cookbook but after perusing through it from cover to cover, I really feel uninspired to try anything which is unusual for me. The photographs do not make the food look very appealing and the recipes...really, how many recipes does a person need for blueberry muffins or pumpkin pancakes? Many of the recipes call for ingredients that are not available at my local grocery store and the author doesn't list any recommendations for substitutions. The book also has quite a bit of the author's New Age/ Buddhist/ Mother Earth beliefs interspersed among the recipes which I didn't care for but some readers might enjoy. Overall, I have already made other versions of most of the recipes in this book and didn't find anything revolutionary or compelling about her recipes to want to give them a try. That being said, the recipes are healthy and there is a good emphasis on fruits and vegetables which I do appreciate. However, I don't see this as being a cookbook that I will use frequently or reference so I will be returning.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2012I have a large family and we are learning a lot these days about where our food comes from and find ourselves becoming passionate about Whole Organic Foods. HOW though? How do I translate that into great meals my kids will love. Thank you to Anni Daulter for this fabulous book. The photography alone makes this book a must buy, but then once you start making the meals and tasting the goodness, well there is no going back. We love her practical tips and nurturing advice. A great book, one I'm going to be giving as gifts to my Mommy friends. Thank you Anni for pouring so much of your time and knowledge into this valuable and beautiful resource!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2011I have been a huge fan of Anni Daulter's ever since learning of her magic a couple years ago. However, I have never before had an emotional response to a cookbook! Each page of this beautiful treasure literally gave me the chills and at times even brought me to tears. It's a perfect tribute to how incredible and simple family time in the kitchen could/should be. I have told everyone I know about this book and highly recommend it to YOU too!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2014Anni Daulter's Organic Family cookbook is not only filled with DELICIOUS organic recipes, but its a fun read, and has lots of personal stories about how she has taught her children to love healthy food and experimenting with new recipes. Everything I have prepared from her recipes is scrumptious, and makes me feel like a better person! The food is so tasty we were able to cut back on portion sizes and still feel totally satisfied. BUY THIS BOOK!!! And, Anni Daulter, PLEASE WRITE MORE!!
