I love this white tea! The taste is subtle and pure, no bitterness whatsoever. I drink tea solely for the health benefits. Before I purchased any, I spent countless hours researching which type (white, green, oolong, black) would be more beneficial; which was least beneficial, etc.
My scouring of the internet, reading peer reviewed journal after journal, revealed that white tea has the most benefits with the least drawbacks; namely, white tea has the most antioxidants, especially when cold brewed, and it also has been shown to contain the least amount of fluoride, due to the fact that white tea is picked earlier, so less fluoride is absorbed into the leaves.
Whether to buy organic or not is a no-brainer; no one wants to drink an infusion of toxic pesticides that are found in every non-organic tea. In my opinion, it is better not to drink tea at all, than to drink non-organic (i.e. sprayed heavily with pesticides) tea.
But, the final and most important question is, where was the tea grown; clean soil will produce clean tea. High levels of lead, aluminum, arsenic, and cadmium have been found, even in organic teas, that are grown in China; the problem being the contaminated soil due to unregulated industrial run-off; radioactive particles in tea samples, due to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in 2011, has ruled out me buying tea from Japan. That leaves India as the only choice available for white tea that is pure.
